by Derek Sevier

Deafhood 101 Class at Rocky Mountain School for the Deaf, Colorado

Deafhood 101 Class at Rocky Mountain School for the Deaf, Colorado

We have some space available for the first Deafhood Classes here in Colorado facilitated by Deafhood Foundation's own Butch Zein.

It will be held from March 3rd to 9th at Rocky Mountain Deaf School. The course is comprehensive and it is an equivalent of a college semester.

In fact, it's taught at a university now! The course will be held all day Sunday, evenings M-F, then all day Saturday, to not interfere with typical work days. It will be only $180 per person for the whole course.

It's geared for Deaf participants ONLY to create a safe space for us all to discuss and share our experiences growing up as Deaf person as well as understanding the past, present and what the possibilities in the future are for us.

The 30-hours course covers these topics as following:

*Oralism & Deaf Clubs
*Residential Schools and 1.001 Victories
*Deaf Culture
*Subalterns and Minorities
*Deficit Thinking & Dimensions
*Identity and Framing
*Resistance, Activism & Possibility Thinking

If there is higher than expected demand, we may put you on a waiting list and can organize another Colorado class.

You may VP 720.239.1408 or email us extremedas@gmail.com or robcube@gmail.com at if you have questions or concerns.

Hurry, its in 2 weeks and spaces are limited!
