Celebrate Sound - Don't Walk in Silence, 2nd annual walk for hearing health

Our first annual walk to support hearing health!

Listen Foundation, one of our affiliates

I am a Denver area Sertoman (SERvice TO MANkind) who is working on registration and PR for our 2nd annual Celebrate Sound - Don't Walk in Silence, walk for hearing health. Sertoma, org is a national non-profit service organization who's focus in on hearing health and education. We are trying to connect better with the hearing impaired community so that we may reach more impacted individuals, meet individuals with insight, and better serve those with hearing needs all around.

Our walk this year on Saturday, May 16th is sponsored by 14 Denver area clubs, and last year we had about 150 walkers, most of those being Sertomans. We are hoping to increase our participants this year by reaching out to those we support; the hearing impaired.

I would also love to invite any or all of your members to join our walk in support of hearing health. Through Sertoma, we raise funds, sponsor and/or are affiliated with several organizations like; Listen Foundation, Marion Downs, Aspen Camps, Easter Seals, Children's Advisory Network, Hippotherapy, and more, however... our annual walk is a combined effort, and as such, the proceeds are unique in that they will go to fund a spcific local hearing health project.

Just in its second year, we are hoping to make this annual event something special for Sertoma and for the hearing health community as we know of no other walk in Colorado that exists for this purpose.

Participants can sign up to walk either one or two miles. It begins at the Southglen Country Club near the Streets at Southglen in Centennial. The donation is $20 and walkers (or virtual walkers) get a T-shirt and goody bag, and snacks. We also have a hearing testing van and warm-ups by Becky Taylor. Registration is at: mycelebratesound.org/centennial
Any feedback would be great. Please help us spread the word.
