Good day friend,
My name is Sky Yarbrough currently enrolled in Metropolitan State University, American Sign Language 1, under the tutelage of Dr. Jean Lundy. Currently, no classmates are willing to study with me due to my dyslexia, understandable frustration for the both of us. Classmates frustration is pretty straightforward, Time.
However, for me time is as crucial, gain the skill to regurgitate and quickly process all information efficiently and effectively. My processing capability is slow just like my motor skill, but once it's in, its in. Moreover, I am in a situation I cannot avoid, due to early childhood brain trauma, dyslexia and seizure disorder has left residuals upon my ears. Which is now having noticeable and meaningful impact academically and personally; Late in life progressive hearing loss is how it has been explained to me by Audiologist. They have suggested I wait on any treatments because of menopause. I agree right now there are too many fluctuations to the inner ear, nerves and drum.
Meanwhile, I proactively have decided to take ASL class and in a long winded way I am asking for further assistance. I am of low-income poverty threshold, but I will do everything in my power to pay for your time is important to me as well as to you. Therefore, I hope that we can find something we both can be comfortable with. You're more than welcome to email me directly, blkindskyin1@gmail.com
Be well and take care to you and yours
Sincerely Sky Yarbrough
