EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Job Description:

DOVE is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened and Deaf-Blind victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. DOVE’s purpose is to provide free services and education to Deaf victims, victim service providers and the general public.


Job Salary: Compensation based on experience.
Position includes: health insurance, vacation and sick leave benefits.
Employment Status: Full-time

Executive Director provides:
• Overall administration of the agency per Board directives
• Supervision of office and staff
• Support to the Board of Directors
• Financial Management with support and supervision from a licensed financial accountant
• Financial support for the agency through grant writing, fundraising, contracts

Specific tasks:
• Annual budget development and Quarterly budget reporting to the Board of Directors
• Grant research, writing and negotiation
• Pursue and Oversee all contracts and obligations (including government agencies)
• Monthly billing and bookkeeping
• Assist and Participate in various fundraising campaigns on behalf of the agency
• Recruit, hire and train new personnel
• Staff development and supervision
• Coordinate annual program planning and oversee progress through regular staff meetings
• Provide victim advocacy as needed
• Promote publicity for the agency on a local and national level

Qualifications:
• Fluency in American Sign Language
• Master’s Degree or its equivalent in experience
• Experience working with non-profit organizations
• Experience in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault
• Minimum three years administrative experience
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse clientele and staff


Reports to: DOVE Board of Directors
